HW #12

PROBLEM #1

This problem had us solve some equations symbolically, highlighting the difference between solving equations and solving expressions. Answers are commented on the bottom in green.

PROBLEM #2

For this problem, we were instructed to solve the same equations from above using a vector. Apparently, the expressions are the only thing that work when using this method.

PROBLEM #3

In this problem, we essentially did the same thing as the last problem except we subbed in values for the symbolic data types. As before, expressions work better than equations.

PROBLEM #4

In this problem, we solved an equation symbolically

PROBLEM #5

In this problem, we went back to an old thermocouple example in which a mixture of water ethanol and methanol enters the system and gets split into two pipes. This time we solved for the system using symbolic data types and linear algebra.
